love stories: stickerin up the streets and prettyin up our werds

the beloved miami has undergone many changes over the years, but it seems to have finally settled down. i mean, i gave up going for a few years because i never knew if it would be open, or closed, or full of junk-crap or...
i will always maintain that they should have just left the back terrace as it was. that terrace was fucking awesome in its heyday... and now it looks like this:

it's not bad actually. and yeah, they still let you smoke in there.
drinking and smoking inside people! how is this place not perpetually mobbed?

at least they kept their signature death-stairs.
idea for a photo project:
lurk in the miami death-stairway with nikon d60 and document drunken tumbles. print photos and hang them in the death-stairway as let-that-be-a-warning-to-yous........

cool shit you see while out stickering 1:

dave notices that some jerk has written over the first sticker he ever put up. what does he do? he whips out his handy marker and just refills the image. meanwhile, these dudes are watching us from the window of their apartment. so when they finally make a peep and alert us to their creepy presence i get all hostile like, "what do you want?? what are you looking at???"
then dave tells me they were offering us some pizza. i eat my words.

these kids just kind of fell and floated out of casa, and curled up in the cement corner of a condominium building. he's stroking her leg, and she's wearing only a white dress. the garbage truck is nice too.

so i had just made this big speech about not invading people's privacy with my camera when i saw this, and just had to take a picture. i'm not one of those people who gets grossed out by feet. in fact, i find toes sort of delightful.
i know... i'm terrible.
